How to Show Up Like a Star in Every Transaction

WELCOME
Hello! I am just back from a conference Vail, which was just such an incredible experience. What made it magical wasn’t the mountains or the luxury setting (though that didn’t hurt). The magic came from the people I had the privilege of meeting. Everywhere I turned, someone came up to say they follow me online, that they feel like they know me, that they came just to connect in person! OMS, I cannot tell y’all how much every hug and conversation touched me. What it means is that I am showing up fully, with heart and authenticity, flaws and all, every single time.
The notion of showing up leads into our topic this week. We’re going to explore how you can consistently shine in every transaction. So grab your sequins and sparkles and let’s go!

And Baby, That’s Show Business for You
Y’all know I cannot let this week go by without talking about Life of a Showgirl! Oh, my stars and stripes!! I stayed up listening to it the second it dropped, and all I could think was, This woman gets it.
With Taylor Swift, it's not just about the music. Instead, it’s about the way she crafts an experience. She is a mastermind at inviting us into her world, making us feel like we’re part of something bigger. And I wasn’t just hearing those songs by myself last week—I felt connected to everyone else listening, too!
Taylor has built a community that shows up for her every single time because she shows up for them. She never phones it in. Like when she was on the Eras tour in Singapore, despite being sick, she still gave it her all. Or in London, when she swallowed a bug (!) and asked the audience to please sing her part while she got herself together. There’s no quitting, no excuses. Swallow a bug, and the show must go on.
My point is that Taylor always gives it her all. Doesn’t matter if it’s a surprise release or a stadium show. Whatever the circumstances, it will feel like a once-in-a-lifetime moment. That’s exactly why her fans keep coming back, because they know she will deliver. She gives her fans a reason to plan vacations around her tour dates and show up at work the next morning bleary-eyed because she dropped a double album. She makes being sleepless worth it.
Showing up like a star is how I want us to think in our own businesses. Because in real estate, we have the same opportunity to create that kind of connection. If you want to stand out like a star, treat every listing, showing, and phone call like your stage. Every client interaction is a performance. I don’t mean this in the sense of being fake or rehearsed, but rather in how intentionally we present ourselves. We have to ask ourselves each time:
Are we giving them our best?
Are we making them feel seen, heard, and valued? Or are we just checking boxes?
Your clients might only buy or sell a home once every few years... or decades. For them, this moment is huge. It’s shot through with emotion, and it couldn't be more personal. Believe me, your clients will remember how you made them feel long after they’ve forgotten the list price or the appraisal value.
What I’m saying is that you might have ten deals in motion, but for your clients, theirs is the one that matters most. That’s why we’ve got to bring our performer energy to every transaction. Good enough isn’t good enough when someone is trusting you with their dreams.
Taylor doesn’t have off nights. She’s not rolling out of bed and showing up at Arrowhead Stadium in sweats. She’s honed and ready to create a moment that sticks. We can do the same. You don’t have to wear sequins to a showing (though I probably will), but you do need to bring that presence. Your energy has to project, “I’m here for you, and I’m going to make this an experience you’ll never forget!”
When people meet me, I love to hear, “You’re exactly like you are in your videos!” To me, that’s just the highest compliment because authenticity builds trust. You can’t ask people to invest in you if you’re not investing in them.
This week, I want you to challenge yourself:
How can I show up like a star?
How can I make every moment feel like a front-row concert?
When you bring that level of presence and passion, people will notice. They will remember. And they’ll show up for you again and again. Make every handshake, every follow-up call, and every showing a chance to build your fan base one person at a time. Not a fan base built on flash, but on heart. Make people feel special. Keep it 100, every single time. That’s how you turn a client into a raving fan who tells their friends, “You’ve got to work with her.” Build a business that lasts by being unforgettable for all the right reasons.
Now, if out of nowhere, I happen to belt out, “Elizabeth Taylor!” please just let me be.
